Jazz on the Lawn presents Jessica Fichot
DESCRIPTION
Grab your friends, family, and dancing shoes! Jazz on the Lawn is BACK!! Come dance or relax and listen to free great music in Gandara Park, every Sunday in August from 5-7 PM - and don't forget to try some of Southern California's tastiest food trucks!

-------------------------------------------------

This Sunday features LA-based chanteuse, songwriter and accordionist Jessica Fichot (music). Jessica is a lot like her hometown of Paris: French at heart, but with a soul that's truly international. Drawing from her multi-ethnic French/Chinese/American upbringing, her music fuses styles and languages, taking the listener on a twisting journey out of the French chanson tradition, into the land of gypsy jazz, 1940s Chinese swing, international folk, and into the wilderness of her imagination.

Come hear the music the LA Times heralds as "a glittering testament to LA's multiculturalism," bringing "art-song sensibility to delightfully catchy tunes" on August 20th!

COME AT 4:30 FOR A FREE SALSA DANCING CLASS with Laura Canellias, professional salsa dancer
-------------------------------------------------
The final week of Jazz on the Lawn features the Susie Hansen Latin Band. Playing lively Afro-Cuban salsa and Latin jazz, electric violinist and vocalist Susie Hansen has been a favorite in Los Angeles for twenty-five years. Her ensemble loves to get the audience up and dancing -- as Susie says, "We aim for the feet!" Susie and her band play familiar and traditional salsa in Spanish, many original salsa and Latin jazz compositions, Latin-style interpretations of American jazz standards, typico Cuban Charanga music, cumbia, merengue, and bolera.

Come experience what the LA Times calls "high voltage excitement" that gets "the whole room jumpin' for joy" (SF Examiner) August 27th, and come early for a FREE SALSA LESSON at 4:30pm!
