Using Pub Tables to Brighten Up Your Dining Area
If you are a first-time home decorator, one of the most exciting areas to spruce up is your dining room area. As it is the place where people will commonly gather for mealtimes and sharing, you should devote maximum time and effort in ensuring that your dining room area is a great welcoming place for anyone, whether family or friend.
One of the best things that can jazz up your dining room area and present it in a brand-new light is your choice of dining room furniture. Choosing the right dining furniture to fit the size of your dining area, as well as the mood and atmosphere you would like to set especially during mealtimes, requires a lot of time and money investment on your part. However, this is a worthwhile investment if you take the time to do your research properly and refrain from impulse-buying.
Using Pub Tables to Cleverly Reconstruct Your Dining Room Area
One of the less common types of dining room tables to use to jazz up your dining room area is the pub table. These are tall and circular tables that may vary in circumference, and these can be used to give a more casual feel to your dining room area.
The size of the tables you should get depends on your dining room area. While these are great pieces to add to your dining room, this is generally not recommended as your main dining room table. Generally, pub tables are best for after-dinner get-togethers, where the only food and drinks required are finger food, cocktails, and other alcoholic beverages. The circular design of the pub table is meant to cast an intimate mood over the people sitting at the table – if you notice, pub tables can only seat a small number of people.
Before buying a table or two, assess your dining area carefully and make a quick judgment call on whether or not you have enough space for an additional pub table. Just because you have some room to the left of the table, though, doesn’t mean that this is a sign that you should get a pub table – imagine how your dining room will look like after. If you are envisioning a clutter of furniture in a cramped space, chances are you should hold off buying a pub table, or settle for having one in another part of the house.
How Pub Tables Can Jazz Up Your Den
In the case that you cannot properly fit a table into your dining area, the next best place you should look at is your den. Generally also a place where people chill out, relax, and enjoy conversations, a pub table can serve as additional seating space for guests if you are having a get-together. Take note that if you do not want people eating and drinking in your den, this would not be the way to go for you. This would be the extra compromise that you need to make.
However, if you are okay with it, then go for it. Choose a pub table that goes well with the already-existing furniture in your den. Be careful not to make your tables stand out too much as this may distract more than attract people. Look for a pub table that is in a similar shade of hardwood as the rest of your den furniture. Be careful of putting in too much that your den will look cluttered in the process.
Using a Table to Add Extra Seating Capacity in Your Family Room
If you normally use your family room for movie-watching, gaming, reading books and all other sorts of leisure activities, then a pub table might be a nice addition to the room. However, be wary of where you place your pub table – if you have a lot of small children living in the house, they may run around the family room and bump their heads or some other part of their body into one of the chairs and legs of your pub table. It is better to limit yourself to one or two small pub tables in a family room as you want the atmosphere to still be intimate – after all, the family room is exactly that: a room for the family. It should continue to be a private haven for the kids and the parents who would like nothing more than to sit down and relax at the end of a stressful day.
How to Choose the Best Tables for Your House
There are three general furniture attributes that you should look into when buying a table of your own, no matter which part of the house you are putting it in: size, quality, and design. Measure the size of the room where you are planning to put your pub table and make sure that there is enough space to accommodate it. If you cannot walk around properly around the room when a pub table’s in it, then adding it in might have been overkill.
Look for a pub table that is made of high-quality hardwood. Depending on the material and finish you prefer, some tables will last longer than others. But it doesn’t really matter, as what it really takes to keep a pub table in good condition is proper maintenance.
Finally, remember that the overall design still matters. Therefore, choose a pub table that goes well with the rest of your furniture. If the room screams simple and elegant, do not go for a grandiose-looking pub table as this will not blend in with the rest of your furniture. Consult a furniture expert if you need any more assistance.
